EDITING
Jeune Afrique supplement
I edited Jeune Afrique's annual finance supplement in 2019. The 130-page special issue had a distribution of about 30,000, primarily in western Europe and francophone Africa. As editor-in-chief, I supervised every stage of the project, from the conception of the stories, through their assignment to reporters, to their eventual page layout. I edited all 34 articles featured in the supplement, and coordinated the 14 journalists and 10 production staff, across nine countries, who worked on the project. The finance issue is one of two French-language supplements Jeune Afrique publishes each year. It contains investigative stories, portraits, interviews and columns, all about African finance, as well as rankings by size of the largest banks, investors and insurers on the continent. On sale for two months at hundreds of news agents, the supplement is widely read by African financiers as well as by general readers interested in the current state of business in Africa. The 2019 issue was its 21st edition. |
